Common Issues – Receiving Calls

I never received my call – what do I do?

Please let us know you didn't receive the call by completing the survey we will email to you. Please rebook the call on Skedda. If you have booked and not received a call a number of times, please email us at NYS_MDCemail@fd.org.

The quality of my call connection was poor or another issue came up during the call that made communication difficult. What should I do?

Unfortunately, we can't troubleshoot call quality issues in real time. Please fill out the survey we will email to you and note any difficulties you had.  If you need the call to be placed again urgently, reach out to MDC Legal by phone or email.

I have an urgent need to speak with a client today or tomorrow, but can't book a call through Skedda. What do I do?

Federal Defenders does not schedule urgent legal calls. Please contact MDC Legal (call 718-840-4200 and ask to be connected to the legal department) to arrange an urgent legal call to speak with your client. If no one answers, email the Legal Dept at BRO-LegalVisit-S@bop.gov, explain why you need the call, provide the client’s name and register number and give your specific days and times of availability plus your contact number.  Legal Department staff leave by 3 pm each day so make every possible effort to request legal calls first thing in the morning (they arrive by 7 a.m.).
