Common Issues – Self-Service Notification Tool
I entered my client's register number and got a response saying you couldn't find them – what's going on here?
There are few possible issues here:
You entered the register number in an unrecognized format. Our database is extremely picky and can only parse register numbers in the EXACT format (#####-###) the Bureau of Prisons uses.
Your client was recently arrested and doesn't appear in our database yet. It can take up to a week for recently arrested clients to appear in our database. If this is the case – please email us at NYS_MDCemail@fd.org.
Your client is not at MDC Brooklyn. Please make sure your client is at MDC Brooklyn before trying to book a call with them.
If you know for certain that your client is at MDC Brooklyn and you get an email saying we couldn't find them in our database—please email us at NYS_MDCemail@fd.org. Clients on suicide watch, who have been taken to the hospital, or are in other special circumstances may not be listed in the database.
I received an email saying my client changed floors – do I need to do anything?
Yes – please update any future bookings you have with this client to make sure the call is on the correct floor. If you do not update the floor, there is a chance we may have to shorten or cancel your call when we submit the schedule to MDC.
